About the album:
The third iteration of the Nostalgie series, released today for your consideration, continues its exploration into sonic artifacts of contemporary Persianate culture. These are not specific details - a particular song, a distinct rhythm - but rather a disembodied sense of familiarity, the equivalent in memory of a name on the tip of your tongue. The Nostalgie series aims to play with the unreliability and unreality of things remembered, the way deja vu mutinies the head against the heart: the former, in thought, reminding us that this moment has never before existed and the latter, in feeling, insisting that it has.
