On a quick trip to Coney Island, I eschewed Nathan's Hot Doggery and Luna Park, instead training my bins on the seashore. I was well rewarded for a stroll along the beach towards the south:- two Loons
- Black Scoters
- dozens of Red-Breasted Mergansers
- Brant geese
- Black-headed gulls
- American herring gulls
- one detectorist
No sandpipers on this occasion, so a return trip is on the cards.
