Thanks to a comment by user KingEvoTheDon on our recent video "What Is Corny In Hip-Hop," we've dug into the question of how rappers fall into and get out of the "corny" category. We know which factors in an artist's music or persona contribute to the label being applied to them, but what can an artist do to change that narrative for the better?

While some artists may never completely shed the corny label, there are many examples in today's game of rappers making themselves less corny or, as KingEvo suggested, "uncornifying" themselves. From Childish Gambino to Rich Brian, we'll take a look at popular hip-hop artists in recent memory who have upgraded their image from corny to more edgy and refreshing.
