The Gender-Based Violence Response Fund (GBVF) has identified the crucial need to shed light on the intersectional experiences of members of the LGBTQIA+ community and gender-based violence (GBV).

Recognising that members of the community are disproportionately affected by GBV, the Fund is committed to intensifying efforts to address this critical issue and prioritise their safety and protection.

To tackle this pressing matter and develop a comprehensive approach, the Fund will host a multistakeholder webinar series, convening organisations such as Department of Women, Youth & Persons with Disabilities, Mercedes Benz/ABSA, Pride of Africa, Civil Society, and other key stakeholders.

This collaborative initiative aims to facilitate a deeper understanding of the complex causes, challenges, and potential solutions to combat GBV against members of the LGBTQIA+ community fostering inclusive engagement and driving meaningful action to address this critical issue.
