He kicked off this massive DIY by cutting pressure-treated 4x6 boards, fastening them into stair frames using heavy-duty lag bolts, each riser perfectly squared. Next, he drilled half-inch holes into the ground and drove in thick rebar stakes for support. With seven steps in total, every piece had to line up with exact spacing. Once the structure was secure, he laid a weed-blocking fabric to stop plants from creeping in later. Then came the dry cement, poured into each step and leveled with a hand tamper. A final spray of water kickstarted the curing process, turning his hard work into a solid staircase.
