On August 9th, Paralympic snowboarder Zach Miller@themountainmiller found himself in an extraordinary situation. On his way to the gym for strength and conditioning training as part of his preparation for the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games in Cortina, Italy, Miller noticed something alarming—a truck on the road ahead was emitting white smoke and saw fire.Recognizing the potential danger, Miller quickly sprang into action. He sped up and signaled to the truck driver, trying to get their attention. Initially, the driver seemed unaware of the situation, but Miller's persistence paid off. The driver eventually noticed Miller's signals and pulled over to the side of the road.
Once stopped, both Miller and the driver worked together to extinguish the flames using nothing more than a few water bottles they had on hand.
Their quick thinking and teamwork prevented what could have been a much more serious incident.
