Born June 29, 1953, Don Dokken turns 72 tomorrow! Founder and lead vocalist of the legendary glam metal band Dokken, his vibrato-laden, melodic voice soared through ‘80s rock on hits like “Alone Again,” “In My Dreams,” and “Burning Like a Flame.” He launched his career fronting LA’s Airborne, then built Dokken into a multi-platinum force with albums Tooth and Nail, Under Lock & Key, and Back for the Attack—selling over 10 million records worldwide. After a solo stint (Up from the Ashes), he reformed Dokken in the ’90s and continues fronting the band as the last original member.
