Marcus Newman is a live electronic music artist. Obsessed with radio shows on KISS FM in the late 90's he obtained a healthy appetite for all things techno. His education at Media Arts RMIT introduced him to a wide range of sonic explorations influencing his current style. His energetic improvised live performances create unique compositions heavily focussed on getting the dance floor moving. His style blends elements of acid house and techno using analogue and digital synths.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. This can be applied to our music policy, tilting the vertical axis resulting in a sharp area of focus without reducing the depth of field. This movement is often used to avoid the convergence of parallel lines, or as we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur.
