Space Hymn, released in 1969, is the second studio album by American psychedelic rock band Lothar And The Hand People, known for its experimental sound using mog synthesizers and theremin. The album represents an early fusion of counterculture and electronic music in the late 1960s.
Pioneers of electronic music: one of the first bands to use mog synthesizers and theremin ("Lothar") in live performances.
Psychedelic + Country Rock: an experimental approach similar to the Notorious Byrd Brothers period in The Byrds.
Unique Lyrics: "Space Hymn" depicts a transcendent experience with the theme of space travel
