If you are wondering about the latter picture, it is in fact from the movie 'Moon' that was released in 2009. It is an amazing movie with a very sad outcome. In summary without ruining much, Sam Bell (in the picture) is a clone who was tricked into thinking he is the original Sam Bell, who works up on the moon for a company that - instead of spending money hiring new astronauts, uses clones who have the skills already in them to do the job. The clones, of course, have feelings and are normal humans, but unaware that they are clones, thinking that they would go home once their contract is up. Memories have been implanted into the clones about their wife and daughter, and of course, thinking he would go back to them when his contract is over (after 3 years – not knowing that clones die after 3 years).
I recommend watching this scene of the movie that is truely heart-breaking (this picture taking at that moment), when the clone calls his home to find out that his daughter is much older, and his wife has passed away. He begins to lose it when he hears himself (the original Sam) on the phone asking who he is. The fact that he says he wants to go home, at this point fully aware of not having ANY home, makes this that more sad. He lived his life for 3 years, under false hopes, only to find his life a tool for some company. His whole waking life was nothing but sacrifice and suffering. I highly recommend watching this movie. Thought I would include the song here because it is quite relaxing.
