A 13-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a supermarket worker west of Brisbane.

Queensland police responded to reports a person had been stabbed at Yamanto Central Shopping Centre on Warwick Road at about 5:25pm on Monday.

A 63-year-old woman was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition in the intensive care unit.
