The Police Service Commission (PSC) has removed Mrs. Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin as the Commissioner of Police for Edo State, following the tragic killing of 16 travelers in Uromi, Esan North-East LGA on March 27, 2025.

She is replaced by CP Monday Agbonika, who was formerly in charge of the Mounted Troop and Force Equitation at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. Otimenyin had only assumed the role on January 16, 2025, succeeding CP Peter Umoru Ozigi.

In a statement by PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani, the new CP has been directed to urgently investigate and address the security failures that led to the Uromi killings, as the state battles rising tension and insecurity.
