Here's an outtake from a live improvisation I did for Deep Happening PDX, a curated evening of art that's hosted at the stunning Bodecker Foundation in Portland, OR. Hear the full recording here:
All the performances happen in a skate bowl, with the audience surrounding the lip of the bowl. Some people even sit on the edge with their legs dangling over the side. Such an amazing space! The only complicated thing was setting my rig up in a space that had flat surface!
When I do these performances I try to start with no preconceived ideas...I just make a sound and then start following the thread from one theme to the next. It's a journey of mystery and discovery.
