Watch in HD!!! This is a drum play-through for a song titled 'Halogen' by Skyharbor. Its off of our latest release titled 'Guiding Lights'. 'Halogen', if Im not mistaken, may have been the first song fully written for the new record, and it was also the first song that we started playing live! I absolutely LOVE playing this song live! None of the drumming is really that complicated, and a lot of the drum parts are up for interpretation. There is a lot of room for improvising and just going with the feel, which is something I really appreciate! I feel like a lot of the other music I perform and write is heavily grid locked, and parts are to be translated exactly as they are recorded... This song I feel like is the exact opposite when it comes to playability and feel.
Meinl was kind enough to hook me up with an entire variety of the Classics Custom Dark Series cymbals. In this video, Im using a 19" (right) and an 18" (left) Dark Crash. Im actually thoroughly impressed with these cymbals! I feel like they resemble a lot of the dry series that Meinl has to offer, which Im a HUGE fan of! Needless to say, I plan on incorporating these cymbals more and more into my setup as time goes! I was completely thrilled with how they recorded and how they sound acoustically!
