This song was inspired by a guy called fayth davidson a youtuber who's rage consumed him and is also a discussion about a wider topic and that is " gen Z digital slaves " who have been raised by their phones not their parents . consuming manosphere rhetoric,toxic masculinity ' etc . by the likes of andrew tate and many others. so it's not just about fayth davidson it's a global epidemic .
and it's really about an entire generation of disaffected young men, lost in algorithm-driven rage and nihilism.
Was also partly inspired by the netflix show Adolescence.
but the main inspiration for this song was Fayth Davidson AKA Josh Dale ' i had to mark his time on youtube somehow so i wrote this song about him ' fayth literally expired from youtube in an inferno of flames ' consumed by his mad rage and lust for clicks and views he lit on fire a court building and is now in long term prison ' so we won't be seeing him again for a very long time .
As a songwriter and recording artist i do try to tap into the zeitgeist of our lives and times when i think i can and this is one of those times . when a song about somebody i know became a much bigger thing about a whole generation .
A song about Josh,aka fayth davidson but also about something much bigger. FD is a reflection of a lost generation—young men raised by screens, drifting through digital oblivion, slipping into rage, despair, and self-destruction. The pathogen C ' isolation created a new breed of disaffected youth, young men who came of age locked down in rooms, with the internet as their only guide. No role models, no direction—just algorithm-fed anger, manosphere rhetoric, and a slow-burning fuse.
This is the soundtrack of modern nihilism. The school sh00t4s, the arsonists, the K1ll4as 'the men who disappear into fire and live-streamed ruin. The ones who scream into the void, hoping someone, somewhere, will hear.
The closing line in this song captures perfectly what i'm trying to do with this song.
