Here is a four-hour compilation of every video I've taken of the locals running on the Patata Industrial Lead through Downey and South Gate, CA from 2017 through 2024. I've lived along this line all my life and would venture to see the elusive locals after school or in my free time. A wide variety of locomotives can be seen, featuring GP15s, GP38s, GP40s, and GP60s, demonstrating the constant shifts in motive power the locals would get, starting with the introduction of Geeps to the SoCal Region and including the last of the 3GS21B Genset switchers before their retirement in 2019. LOA35 Patata Local was the daytime job that would serve Leech Grain & Milling in Downey and all industries in South Gate before being abolished in 2021. LOA38R Norwalk Switcher used to be based out of Buena Park and would switch Coca Cola in Downey; sometime in 2023 it was relocated to Los Nietos. LOA33R Los Nietos Switcher now serves Coke, Leech and the South Gate industries minus Titan and Brenntag Pacific, LOA38R now renamed Patata Local only does the two industries the 33R does not switch.
