Chainsaw-resistant clothing is a type of protective gear designed to prevent serious limb injuries during chainsaw use. They’re made with multiple layers of tough, high-tensile fibers (like Kevlar or ballistic nylon) hidden beneath a durable outer shell. When a moving chainsaw contacts the clothing, these inner fibers are pulled out and quickly tangle around the chain, jamming the mechanism almost instantly. This stops the blade from continuing to move, even though the engine may still be running at that moment, giving the wearer a critical layer of protection against deep cuts or worse.
