#SP404 #TripHop #SP606 A lot of people like that lofi hip hop, gritty sound (vinyl sim) of the sp404 and the other Roland SP samplers are known for. I love it, too.
But this time I didn't want to do that. This time I wanted to try to make something big and grand sounding and I ended up with this blade runner inspired trip hop track instead.
I processed all of my samples through the sp606 first and then bounced them to the sp404sx and made heavy use of the pattern sequencer. Then played the patterns back through the 2 master effects and master compressor on the 606 before recording the output into my tascam DR05
The SP series is awesome but really kind of need two to get the most out of them. Or... at least I do but I'm still a newb.
