All day yesterday each of the 3 tiny bundles of fluff was getting well fed. As they tipple and tumble over each other reaching for the food, it can sometimes be challenging to keep them sorted out……but, Chick3 got fed a bunch, including a few Chick1-sized pieces!

When the chicks first hatch, they have poor vision and can barely see shadows—just enough to follow their parents’ beaks. That’s why sometimes the chick is looking the other way during the feeding. But Chick3’s vision will be gradually improving and catching up with the other two.
It is already getting better at keeping an eye on where Jackie and Shadow are, in other words, where the food is coming from. It is also getting better at keeping its head up. It still rolls over more than the others, but gets back up quickly. For a mere two days old, it is doing great.
All three Chicks are healthy and progressing quickly. And they are all being fed very well by Jackie and Shadow so even the ‘bonking’ challenges between them has been minimal.
This morning Chick3 got fed in the first feeding, along with the other two.
Smile and enjoy the fun of watching them push and shove to get to the front and tumble over each other as their balance just isn’t quite there yet!
