Check out these interesting details you might have missed in Across the Spider-Verse. When Gwen Stacy gets invited to the spider society, Miguel throws her a travel watch—a device everyone in the spider society wears. Did you notice it glowing yellow when Miguel tossed it? But as soon as Gwen grabs it, it stabilizes, and the glow fades. This happened in the post-credit scene of the first movie too; until Miguel put it on, the device was glitching. So, it seems this device stabilizes only when it gets a host. So, just like this device helps stabilize a host, a host does the same for this device. In the parent-teacher meeting, when Miles's mom hears he's not doing great in Spanish, she snaps her fingers in frustration. Here's the cool part: instead of the usual effect, the animators threw in a Puerto Rican flag. Nice nod to Miles's Puerto Rican mom. And did you catch Miles rocking a BLM (Black Lives Matter) badge on his backpack in the same meeting? Pretty cool, right?
