There are low volume cymbals, and now there are low volume drumheads. These drumheads aren't quite mesh, and they aren't quite mylar acoustic drumheads. There are two types, the TRUsound Practice Series (75% Quieter Than Acoustic) and the TRUsound Live Series (15% Quieter).

Pros:

(Practice Series).

Cons:
1. Air Bubbles In Current
Iteration
2. It Could Be Argued That
You Could Replicate The Effect Of These Heads With
Cut Up Acoustic Heads,
Mesh, And Some Gaff Tape.
