Guess who's back in town? In today's vlog, we pick up my dad, Daniel, from the airport in Buenos Aires. He flew down to Argentina to help us with the property renovations in Cordoba, so you'll be seeing more of him in the upcoming videos. But before travelling up to the sierras, we spent one action-packed day in Buenos Aires doing a bit of sightseeing around Palermo (a neighbourhood we've spent very little time in and still don't know very well!), plus we also had to go out to a steakhouse for his welcome meal to Argentina. Explored Plaza Serrano at dawn: artisan market still snoozing, but the graffiti-lined passages were ours alone.
Spotted Marlon Brando murals, Majolica-tiled colonial facades and secret mansions hidden behind high walls.
Remembered the old granite cobblestone streets where trams once rolled—lost charm of BA’s historic paving.
On the hunt for a sturdy leather belt (to survive our “feasting”!) and handcrafted wooden cutting boards.

Popped open a Salta red from our fave northern bodega—perfect match for a parade of breads, peppery eggs, sausages & dips.
🥩 Argentinian Steak Spectacular
Shared half-portion cuts of entraña and sirloin-tip seasoned only with coarse salt—juicy, tender, melt-in-your-mouth perfection.
Insane sides: poutine-style cheesy fries, beet & carrot salad, artisanal dips.
Verdict: one of BA’s best parilla experiences—flawless flavour & gigantic portions!
🎒 Off to the Sierras: Packing & Transfer
Fought gridlock, loaded a remise (private transfer) with our mountain of luggage—BA’s taxis have tiny trunks!
Reflected on that epic steak feast—“small” portions here feed two hungry travelers.
🏡 Rustic Cabin in Sierra de Córdoba
Unveiled Dad’s month-long “castle”: wood-burning stove, mini-split heater, simple kitchen & cozy bedroom.
Ready for siestas, hikes & fresh mountain air in our home away from home.
