This mix came from discovering High energy as it's own genre some years back now. As I was only a kid when these tracks first broke, I didn't know that High Energy or even the Gay Club scene existed!

I have always been a massive fan of Frankie Goes to Hollywood even back them, but on reflection I think this was down to the production finesse of Trevor Horn. ever since hearing some of these tracks as an adult I wanted to make a mix that paid homage to that particular scene.

I have built up a collection of tracks but it was difficult to find enough tunes that fitted the overall style and mood I was looking for. There is a lot of cheese and pomp within this genre.

I have used a mixture of High Energy, Disco and dance tracks over two hours of music. There are some more modern mixes of some original tracks but they fit the mix much better and add a layer of interest to the set.
