On 14 May 2001, 37-year-old Nigel Farage held a press conference to unveil the manifesto of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), of which he was a founding member and former chairman. Speaking to the press, Farage boasted that UKIP was fielding candidates drawn from across the political spectrum, from Labour Party, the Liberal Democrats, and "Old Liberals" further to the right.
Nigel Farage has announced that he is running as a candidate for Reform UK in the seat of Clacton in the 2024 general election, having replaced Richard Tice as party leader.
