Did ACDC's Back In Black save rock n roll? Some rock and rollers think so. In the AC/DC Trivia Book by Dale Raynes, Tom Morello stated, "disco was huge and punk and new-wave were ascendant, and along came this AC/DC record which just destroyed everybody. It put hard rock music back on the throne, where it belongs!" Slash agrees. He was quoted as saying, "Back In Black saved rock n roll! It was the defining rock record that came during the biggest lull for rock music. It just exploded!" David Fricke regarded it as "not only the best of AC/DC's six American albums", but also "the apex of heavy-metal art. The first LP since Led Zeppelin II that captures all the blood, sweat and arrogance of the genre." The album went 25 times platinum in the US and remains one of the best selling hard rock albums ever made.
