Thank you for your comments! We are sorry if this episode made some of you question our motives or hearts for God. We at the Superbook Show believe that God the Father sent his one and only son Jesus to die for the sins of the world and that only through the confession of faith in Jesus we have eternal life. Our motive was not to glorify the man Francis, but to present him as an influential figure in Christian history. He lived before the Reformation and as such is part of a broad Christian heritage, and not simply a representative of a particular denomination or tradition.
With "the blessing of pets" we were not trying to say you must bless your pets or saying that pets should be glorified. What we meant to say was that we recognize pets are a gift from God and we want to be sure to pray that He helps us to treat them with love and care as the Bible instructs in Proverbs 12:10, "the righteous care for the needs of their animals".
