INTRODUCTION TO GLITCHES 6 - EDGEBOARD, Q-TURN CONTROL, COIL GRAB






All of these moves should really go into one category: Climbing Boosters, as all of them extend your vertical range, even if by just a little, still they do.

The most optimal scenario for a climbing combo is, in this order, springboard - wallrun - wallclimb x 2, coil grab.
This doesn't happen too often naturally in the game though, as this wasn't developers' intention.

Let's start from the beginning of the combo - springboard.
It's one of MEC's new and fresh features - springboards are no longer tied to game objects, but instead can be done anywhere in the world. This, of course, means, we can glitch this move out :)
Springboards work like something along those lines: "At the moment you jump, the game saves your height, and if you keep holding the jump button, it will test for interaction with objects that are within
a certain range above the saved height. If there's a success, you springboard."
Unfortunately for the devs, and luckily for us, if you grab an edge, and (what's important) your legs are pressed agains the wall,
the saved height will be just low enough for you to springboard off the ledge itself (it's important that you aren't hanging off the ledge, as then you will be too low to springboard)!
This exploit allows us to springboard even when there are no objects in sight, all you need is an edge.
Springboarding gives you the most boost out of all today's moves, but still require the right geometry to be performed.

The second move is Q-Turn Control. What this means, is that you delay your q-turn jumps off a wallclimb. The animation of Faith awaiting your input will give you extra height and horizontal range, and of course, we use that a lot.
Use this exploit after each wallclimb in the optimal combo, and you get double of, while small, important height boost.

The third move is - Coil Grab. It's one of the simplest moves, but it's also extremely important - one of the basics of glitching in MEC.
What I assume to be a way to make the game less frustrating to play by giving you a height boost to get over object faster,
has turned into a way for the players to grab ledges out of reach. To do that move, you coil after jumping. That's it. Combine this move with Q-Turn Control, and you get extra boost.

Today's LE will require you to use all those moves. It's one of the hardest ones to start off, but really rewarding to get. Make sure to practice each glitch separately to get a hang of it.


Also if I were to give a tip on it, try to wallrun off the edgeboard as late as you can, this will give you some extra height too.
