Well I think they're cool, despite what the whiny analogue-fetishists who won't stop bitching about these things say. And after wanting one for a loooonnngg while I got my grubby paws on a JX-03! Which has so far been the most fun I've had learning how to muck around with and program a synth in aagggeeeeesss. Seriously, this thing is way too much fun to play with and sounds bloody amazing in the process. I love it.
So, have some silly simplistic techno/progressive house with my newly acquired JX-03. Also featuring my lovely TR-8 that I decided to break out for some generic 909-shenanigans.
Technical Stuffamabobs:
-- The JX-03 is serving as the master here, with the TR-8 slaved to the JX-03 via MIDI
-- The JX-03 is also running through the TR-8's external-in.
-- The output of the TR-8 is then ran into the Mic/Line-in of a Tascam DR-05 portable recorder which recorded the whole jam as a WAV file
-- The resulting recording is then limited slightly in Audacity and that's about it
