⭐ Next Wednesday I'll release a new album on basically all music streaming platforms. I guess it's some sort of experimental rock. I originally started this in 2020 as part of the #7DaysOfVGM challenge and now decided to polish and release it. Topic back then was "Salamandos". I didn't know much about that word, other that the creatures to me looked like Pokémon - which I watched and played a ton when I was younger, so I started composing 7 original tracks with that being in the back of my mind.I also tried some techniques that were new to me, that's where the "experimental" comes in.
ℹ️ The album is themed in a similar fashion, each track as one part of an arena battle with you and your creature companion. From entering the arena until climbing the ranks to the top, hence the album title: "Road to Number One". In this preview you're hearing the song "Shepard's Tactics".
There's a phenomenon in music called the Shepard Tone, which is a tone rising and rising and seeming to never end rising in pitch, which I tried to recreate here in an ever rising music sequence with synths and other instruments. I imagine Shepard to be the name of a fictional enemy here, which you're up against and who has his very own tactics trying to beat you.
