The A-side, His Latest Flame, was a cover version. Del Shannon released the original version on his debut album.
The B-side, Little Sister, generated an answer-song from R&B legend LaVern Baker - Hey Memphis. This was one of Phil Spector's earliest productions, when he was a house producer at Atlantic Records. The song, Hey Memphis, tells the story from the Little Sister's point of view.
