Sparked by a sudden fear in his cat, the narrator begins to question the nature of instinct and where it comes from. On his journey into the gut he explores the legacy of violence, lasting trauma and his challenging relationship with the past.

Michael Barwise is an Irish filmmaker and writer based in Derry, Northern Ireland. He works across drama, documentary and artist’s films, often experimenting with mixed media and hybrid approaches. His work has screened at festivals across the UK and Ireland.
