Songwriting for me has always been a love-hate relationship. I love to bring something into existence that has not been there before just with my creativity but sometimes it's just so frustrating to know how you want the song and the lyrics to sound like but not being able to make it happen. Sometimes on the other hand a song just comes out fully formed and there's no struggle at all. That has been the case with this one. Little story time: so I recently solo travelled around the US west coast in a van and one night I had a dream about... a song. When I woke up at 5 am I desperately tried to remember what it sounded like but also was too tired to think. I felt really stupid about not even recording a little voice memo on my phone right when I woke up but 2 days later that dream still had me thinking about it and I was actually still able to remember parts of it and to recreate the melody that then became my chorus. I finished the verses on a 4 hour drive I had that day, just from mumbling to the melody the whole drive. And that's how this song was written :)
