An Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They ensure all electrical work complies with local and national safety codes and regulations. Electricians may specialize in wiring, troubleshooting, and servicing electrical components, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, inspect, and maintain electrical wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, and other components.
- Diagnose and repair electrical problems in wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Ensure electrical installations meet national and local safety codes (e.g., NEC).
- Test electrical systems using specialized tools like voltmeters and multimeters.
- Plan and execute wiring layouts for new construction or renovations.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other tradespeople on projects.
- Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment to prevent electrical hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and electrical code regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship or trade school preferred.
- Valid electrician’s license or certification as required by state regulations.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, wiring, and safety standards.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment:

- Work may take place indoors or outdoors, in homes, factories, construction sites, or commercial buildings.
- May involve working at heights, in tight spaces, or under extreme weather conditions.
- Potential exposure to electrical hazards, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
