What Will Security Be Like on Inauguration Day?

Security on Inauguration Day will be extremely tight, as January 20 has been designated a "National Special Security Event," coordinated by the U.S. Secret Service with substantial federal resources allocated.

Approximately 24,000 law enforcement officers, including National Guardsmen from the District of Columbia, will provide security support for Trump's inauguration.

Additionally, about 33 miles of 8-foot-tall temporary fencing will be erected to ensure safety throughout the event.
