The annual and highly anticipated Toronto Pride parade filled the city’s streets on Sunday as diversity, acceptance and inclusion were on full display.

It’s been an annual, summer fixture in Toronto since 1981, when the first Pride parade was born out of protests linked to the city’s bathhouse raids.

Organizers say it's more important this year than ever.
