Both as a talented DJ and producer, Airwolf (aka Justin Erougian) has been quietly yet steadily cutting his own shapes on the Australian dance music scene. As seen on original tracks “Believer ft. Alex Rose”, “Good To You”, “Girls To Jump”, “Hanging On” and remixes for Parachute Youth, Muscles and The Swiss – Airwolf has a knack for creating the kind of beachy, feel-good, ‘Bangalter-driven’ house music that has entire dance-floors moving on first play. Daft Punk comparisons aside, Airwolf now teams up with fellow Melbourne native Stahsi on latest single “Lose The Lazy”.
An ambitious collision of nu-disco & indie-folk (in another life the mutant child of Digitalism and James Bay?), “Lose The Lazy” is shirks the ubiquitous “deep-house” tags that plague modern dance music in favour of jumpy disco vibes and whimsical vocals, throw your hands in the air moments and bare-feet festival-field-dancing vibes.
Remixes come from Brisbane wünderboi Young Franco with a UK bassline future house cut while Pablo Calamari pours balaeric sunshine all over his version, youngster Tobiahs sinks his mix in bass heavy post-trap vibes and Airwolf rounds out the package with his own re-envisioned piano house VIP mix.
