One of the breathtaking sights we encounter when flying from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas is the Bowl of Fire. This vibrant rock formation, made up of red, pink, and orange Aztec sandstone, is similar to what you’d see in Valley of Fire State Park. While Valley of Fire is the most well-known, these stunning sandstone formations can also be found around the north and west shores of Lake Mead—and, of course, at the Bowl of Fire itself!
