Tracklist below | Subterfugio was an experimental band from Portugal that was active only for a short period. The band rose from the ashes of the late 80's post-punk group Melleril de Nembutal. Subterfugio's members included Alberto (ex-Linha Geral), J. Pinheiro and José Jacinto with a guest appearance by Rafael Toral (ex- Pop Dell'Arte). The music created during the early 90's had its own direction that consisted of dark ambient post-punk sounds, tribal influences and occasional pop songs. A bit reminiscent of Cabaret Voltaire's Red Mecca era. Subterfugio's self-titled album was released on the underground cassette label 'K7 Pirata' that focused on releasing Portuguese underground acts during the early 90's.
