1. Believe in Your Body
Even if you had trouble conceiving, your body is fully capable of breastfeeding.
IVF does not affect your ability to produce milk.
2. Start Early
Begin skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding within the first hour after birth.
This stimulates oxytocin release and milk production.
3. Watch for Delayed Milk Supply
IVF moms may experience a slightly delayed onset of mature milk (coming around day 3–5).
Keep feeding regularly to boost supply.
4. Avoid Early Formula Unless Needed
Colostrum (first milk) is enough in the first 2–3 days.
Don't rush to supplement with formula unless medically indicated.
5. Feed on Demand
Feed your baby whenever they show hunger cues (rooting, sucking, crying).
8–12 feeds in 24 hours is normal for a newborn.
