I sit down with Dr. Robert Bowman Jr., whose book on the Word of Faith movement helped shape my own research for my chapter on the New Thought teachings infused in the Word of Faith movement. We discuss the tangled origins, its early teachers, and the controversial connection between E.W. Kenyon and Kenneth Hagin. I ask him about the influence of New Thought, particularly in areas like positive confession, prosperity, divine healing, and the belief in human divinity, and whether my conclusions hold up.
