Description:
Did you know the biggest uninhabited island in the world is located in Canada? Devon Island, part of Nunavut, spans an incredible 55,247 km²—larger than Croatia! Often referred to as "Mars on Earth," this remote island is home to the Haughton Impact Crater, where NASA and other organizations conduct Mars mission simulations.
On the flip side, the smallest inhabited island, Just Room Enough Island in New York, measures just 310 square meters! With a single house, a tree, and a small beach, it's the perfect example of making the most of a tiny space.
Join us as we explore the fascinating extremes of Earth's geography. From the vast desolation of Devon Island to the cozy charm of Just Room Enough Island, this is a journey you don't want to miss!

What's the biggest uninhabited island in the world? You might think of an island somewhere near the North Pole due to the extremely low temperatures, and you would be right.
Since Canada has the most islands near the North Pole, it's no surprise that the answer is Devon Island. Situated in Baffin Bay, Devon Island is part of Nunavut and covers an area of 55,247 km², making it slightly larger than Croatia.
Devon Island is often referred to as "Mars on Earth" because of its Mars-like environment. The Haughton Impact Crater, a 23-kilometer-wide crater, is used by scientists from NASA and other organizations to simulate Mars missions.
Now, let’s ask the opposite question: What's the smallest inhabited island in the world? Well, it’s not that far away. Just Room Enough Island, located in New York, United States, is only 310 square meters, but it has everything you’d ever need:
a house, a tree, and a small beach.
I’m not 100% sure, but this has to be the smallest inhabited island.
