The Systematics demos are, simply, fantastic. Lots of great songs (including things like Suicide Beach which were never released officially), played very well indeed and sounding as clean and fresh as you could ever want. Most of these are just Patrick and Michael.

The Splendid Mess live in the studio recording is, as expected, messier with improvisations and half-baked songs in abundance. But still shows the humour and welcome experimentation that they always showed.
