Their origins trace back to the Imperial Fists’ valiant defence of Terra during the Horus Heresy.
Since then, the Black Templars have embarked on the longest-running crusade in the history of the Imperium, dedicated to proving their unwavering devotion to the Emperor of Mankind. Unlike most Space Marine Chapters, they do not adhere to the Codex Astartes, instead maintaining a unique organisational structure and warrior culture. Additionally, they stand apart from their brethren by venerating the Emperor as a divine being, a belief more commonly associated with the mortal followers of the Imperial Cult.
