Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) is one of the most popular methodologies for Process Hazard Analysis (PHA). HAZOP not only paves the foundation for the Safety Instrumented System (SIS) design but also produces requirements on alarms, BPCS systems, and other prevention and mitigation means for process safety. These prevention and mitigation means are called safeguards.

Usually, HAZOP recording software does not have the field to capture the safeguard category, which instills obstacles for the autonomous process that channels the information to the right department for in-depth designs.

In this webinar, Paul Chan showcases the Naive Bayes Classifier for the text-based classification of HAZOP safeguards.
