In this first episode of a five part series I go over some popular grooves I often play and hear in contemporary styles of worship. This is contextual so think CCM, rock, and pop side of things (in an acoustic setting/context). To go straight into the cajon worship grooves skip to minute 3:00 of the video. If you landed on this video and are searching for more basic fundamentals of playing the cajon you can check out my cajon videos in the cajon lesson playlist. In this series I will go over some cajon grooves that you can use in 4/4, 6/8 (a more typical waltz feel) and 3/4. This is my interpretation of some of these rhythms so feel free to make them your own and experiment with your cajon during worship! Remember the most important thing is to listen to your other band members and serve the song. The song recording, bass, rhythm guitar, music director, etc. will be your guide as to the best parts to play. Train your ear and then find your own voice and don't be afraid to try new things. Thank you for watching and don't forget to subscribe!
