Rainbow-like clouds were spotted over Changbai Mountain Scenic Area in northeastern China. Water vapor traveling from afar condensed into lenticular clouds when uplifted by orographic waves triggered by the mountain peaks. As sunlight streamed through the clouds, these lenticular formations scattered dazzling colors like flowing oil paints. Eventually, the clouds dissipated like mist as they descended on the leeward slopes.Rainbow clouds are seen as a symbol of good luck in China.
