Taso (Tekife) & Kufa - Hip Hop | Jungle | Footwork | Live Mix |Veteran producer @tasoteklife is a co-founder of @teklife57, cementing his legacy in Footwork alongside the late DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn in the early 2010s, building a foundation for innumerable iconic releases on Stones Throw, Atlantic, Columbia, Hyperdub, 1985 Music, Tempa, Exit and Deep Medi and collaborations with heavyweights such as Machinedrum, Alix Perez, G Jones, Scratcha DVA, Siete Catorce, BRIME!’s CESRV, Aotearoa’s Truth & Chicago’s Treated Crew amongst countless others.
Taso’s versatility both on-stage and off has proven him to be an industry powerhouse, from placements with Young Thug, Future, G Herbo, Snoop Dogg, Dam-Funk, Southside, Chief Keef, Fredo Santana & Hannibal Buress to studio work on Chika’s album featuring Freddie Gibbs and the one and only Stevie Wonder, alongside handling all Dolby Atmos mix/mastering for Tstewart’s (Machinedrum) “Elysian” (Universal/Mercury, 2023) in the very same year.
From Athens to the Bay Area, LA to Chicago or Tokyo to Cairo, Taso is a worldwide stepper, becoming the first Teklife member to perform on all 6 continents in early 2023 alongside DJ Assault in Naarm some 11 years after their first meeting, serendipitously the same meet that introduced Taso to the Teklife crew, joining Sleeper Cell’s @flightcrewkufa for @thesoundgallery in late 2024 for 1.5hrs of bass-heavy footwork/juke, hyphy, jungle, hip-hop & more - Ls up!
