Title: Bull Fight / 斗牛
Synopsis:
During the period of the War of Resistance Against Japan, a detachment of the Eighth Route Army arrived at Ma Muchi in the fort village of Yimeng Mountain. Along with them came dairy cows donated by international friends. The villagers, who had lived in the mountains for years, had never seen such black-and-white, high-yielding cows before and were greatly amazed. Soon, the approaching Japanese troops forced the Eighth Route Army to retreat urgently. Before leaving, they entrusted the dairy cows to the villagers for care. The poor and timid villagers were worried that the cows would bring disaster. They selected a cow caretaker through the method of drawing red beans. Widow Jiuer (played by Yan Ni) helped the impoverished Niu Er (played by Huang Bo) draw lots, ultimately making Niu Er the unfortunate "lucky one."
After the cruel and bloody sweep, all the villagers were killed, leaving only Niu Er and the dairy cow as survivors. Before they could catch their breath, another unit of Japanese troops passed by and left their wounded here. From that day on, Niu Er, burdened with the heavy responsibility of protecting the dairy cow, tried every means to deal with the Japanese army, bandits, quacks, and various other people, while his stubborn partner also caused him endless headaches...
