The LOFIATRON is a custom, handmade, unique musical instrument that was developed using inspiration from the 1960s iconic Mellotron Keyboard used by bands like The Beatles, Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd to name a few.
The sound production mechanism is quite different from traditional keyboards like pianos or synthesizers. The Lofiatron produces sound by playing back pre-recorded tapes of real instruments , Synths, Samples, voices, or any kind of sound you can think of. It has a distinctive and nostalgic quality. Using a circuit bent cassette recorder and many modifications this instrument was developed to create lofi music, lofi ambient drone effects with real analog sound and feel. But, you can obviously apply this to any style of music as it’s all about your creativity and imagination.
