Industrial synth jam inspired by Cyberpunk, the throbbing basslines of EBM and the darker lively melodies and motifs of darksynth and deep tech genres. The title and theme draws from my interest in 'The Golden Age' of Science-Fiction and New Wave Sci-fi (literature).

Featuring an entirely DAWless hardware synth setup and performed in real-time with one take.

For my recent cyberpunk style industrial synth jams I've been practising creating more lively arrangements 'on the fly' along with trying to get my live mixes to sound a little better.

Minibrute 2s Industrial EBM style bassline & kick

00:17 - Monologue in
Muting the midi output on the Novation Circuit in realtime to create a variation on the Korg Monologue riff.

00:46 - Volca FM in
muting the percussion and bass and bringing in the Volca FM lead part.

01:24 - Volca lead part 2
Slight change of pace to the lead part

02:02 - Volca lead part 3
Bringing in a change to the lead part

02:57 - Breakdown
Breaking down the main part

03:15 - Buildup
starting to increase the tension before a drop. Holding a one bar version of the main theme on Volca and Monologue.

03:46 - Drop
Bringing in just bass and kick drum

04:15 - Recovery
Things didn't go to plan here, but I just about smoothed it over when I realised I'd dropped to silence :D

05:42 - Middle 8
Probably goes on longer than 8, and I should have had it happen earlier in the jam / arrangement!

⚙ Novation Circuit - Percussion and sequencing. I'm not using either of the internal synths (turn them down in mixer view, muting kills MIDI)

⚙ Korg Monologue - main riff

⚙ Volca FM - lead, sequenced from the Novation Circuit. I'm also running it through my Boss DS-1 guitar distortion pedal and TC Electronic flashback triple.

⚙ FX - TC Electronic Flashback Triple for delay.

⚙ Zoom CDR-70 Multi-stomp - 'Gritty Backwash'

⚙ Akai MPX8 - Dialogue samples

⚙ Recorded into Directly into OBS Studio via USB from class compliant Behringer mixer, stereo inputs only.
